What's new at Bloor West Winery ...

govino ...
The "go anywhere wine glass"
is back in stock!

This summer, govino tumblers are your best choice for the great outdoors. Whether you are by the pool, on the deck, at the cottage or exploring the country, govino offers a better choice for your wine. Seven reasons ...

1. Made of food-grade plastic, govino tumblers do not impart any taste to the wine poured into it,

2. The tumbler is shatterproof (unlike glass),

3. Wash your govino tumblers and reuse them over and over and over again,

4. The govino tumbler has a convenient thumb notch ...  the notch also measures a 6 ounce wine serving,

5. The govino tumblers will be a much-appreciated gift,

6. Inexpensive by any comparison: Purchase a gift box of four govino tumblers for $17.95* or purchase individual, unboxed, tumblers for $3.95* each, and

7. We will deliver or ship your govino tumblers to you!

Great news!  The Argentinean Trio that was part of the RQ2009 release has been added to the full-time CSP line-up.  The wine is a blend of Viognier, Riesling and Chardonnay from Mendoza in Argentina.

Varietal Profile: A delightful blend that highlights the apricot and floral notes of Viognier, the minerality of Riesling and the tropical aromas of Chardonnay. Fresh and balanced fruitiness complimented by hints of vanilla.  Pair with grilled chicken or salmon, seafood or stuffed pasta.

To reserve yours, please call 416-604-8463.

Thank you Fuzion for all the interest your brand has created in Malbec blends.

Argentine Malbec Syrah from RJ Spagnols was our first entry into this sector.  Customers raved about this wine on bottling day and many ordered a second on-the-spot. Others caught the buzz and joined the parade -- perhaps that is why this is the best-selling RQ wine we've had in our 8 years in business.

Sadly, it is absolutely sold out.

But, we have a second Malbec Shiraz, this one from California, now in stock.

This Malbec Shiraz is the newest addition to CellarCraft's Sterling Collection of 5-week wines that have become very popular at Bloor West Winery.  Unlike Fuzion, which is predominently Shiraz, this wine is 80% Malbec, complemented by Shiraz. The result is a medium-bodied red with juicy red and black fruit notes, suble spice of black pepper and an inviting vanilla accent. The flavours are in fine balance with the natural fruit acids and soft tannins, making for a very pleasant and quaffable red wine.

And, if you believe that Fuzion is a bargain at $7.25 per bottle (plus bottle deposit)... CellarCraft's Malbec Shiraz is only $5.26 per bottle (plus container, if required).

Ingredient Kit: 12L (includes 1.5L of Shiraz grape skins)
Makes 23L or 30 750mL bottles
Winemaking time: 5 weeks
Price $ 158 (includes everything except bottles)

A bargain that is virtually effortless ...

Ask any of our regular customers why they return time and time again, and you would learn all about the tremendous value, experience and fun that on premise winemaking provides to them.

The very best on premise wines replicate those wines you’ll find in your local bottle store —
  •   They come from a single wine-producing region, or even from a single vineyard,
  •      They are a single varietal or are a true blend, and
  •      Red wnes are fermented on skins and require bottle ageing to reach their full potential.

The differences are clear as well — on premise made wines are largely free of tax, just as they have much fewer additives than commercial wine.

Saving all that tax money does require that you participate in the winemaking process - it’s the law - but your two visits will be easy and fun.

On your first visit, you select your wine and start the fermentation. Then, you leave all the intermediate steps to us.

Once your wine is ready, you return to bottle and label your wine.  We provide all the easy-to-use equipment, all the supplies and an organized work-space.

Always, your satisfaction is 100% Guaranteed.  Since I am shouldering all of the risk, my question to you is simple and clear: Which wines will you make today?
