Update: June 2, 2012
Bloor West Winery was awarded 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal in the 2012 Winemaker International Amateur Wine Competition as announced at the Magazine's Annual Conference today.
This year's wine competition was, once again, the largest and most diverse of any kind -- commercial or consumer made -- in North America.
In all, 4,319 different wines from 50 American states, 8 Canadian provinces and 5 other countries were judged in the competition using the UC Davis 20-point wine scale evaluating appearance, aroma, taste, aftertaste and overall impression.
Bloor West Winery's winning wines are:
Cellar Classic Winery Series Amarone, 2011 (663 entries in the competition in this category)
Cellar Classic Winery Series Carmenere 2011 (502)
CellarCraft Limited Release Chateau du Pays, 2011 (158)
Cellar Classic Winery Series Rosso Bravissimo, 2011
En Primeur Italian Pinot Grigio, 2011 (77)
All of these wines were made at Bloor West Winery using the standard winemaking instructions and filtered water. None of the wine recipes were modified in any way -- which means that you can expect the same award-winning quality when you make these wines with us.
